Next stage...
And here is the next stage in the SoB test mini. I ran over the armor with a black wash and although it looks like a "mess" I think it helped clean up alot of the initial black lining. I still have the black areas I left out, in addition to some muted cold grey tones which really helps alot. I think My next stages will involve a quick dry brush of the Cold Grey again, and after that a heavy dry brush of the Stonewall Grey and I believe that will be the armor done. Once the armor is done, Ill create a new step by step picture so its all in the one and from that will be off to debating robe colors and finishing anything else. So far its turning out ok, so here is hoping to further positive results.

Yeah I am on a bit of a painting madness...
Yeah the other write up stuff is ok, its really daunting at times, but I guess its best to keep faith (ugh, what a Sister thing to say too).
Never enough time to do two things at once in a day and still get a sufficient amount of sleep.. Oh well..

And that´s what I would do as well, nrush it again with that grey and then a heavy brush of the lighter grey.
Why not do ten of them right now instead of just one..?
This is only the paint test to see how things work out since Robe color hasnt been confirmed yet. So yeah, doing 10 of them would have been easier, but oh well...
Glad you agree about the painting steps. Should work out really well (in theory). Havent done the next stage yet, see how times go right now, if not I'll do it later tonight.

Hehe... ;P Forgot to say it was me, Tobias, above...
Yeah, it soudns good in theory, try it! but, if you´re gonna paint them Grey but the robes aren´t confirmed yet, paint ten Grey and then try one with the robe. Heck, with some metallic and face-colour (and the base) they´re ready to play..! ;)
I´ve looked, but can´t find where that poll is again..! Whatever, I still like the rich, red colour is best and don´t wanna see the others done..! 8-)

Yeah, I could have done it that way, but oh well.. Next time I guess, plus I havent done any work on the bases yet either. Once the color is determined I can easily move up to batch painting for sure.
As for the poll, just scroll down a bit, its still on the front page, just look for the entry that has like lots of SoB pics with different colored robes and has (atm) 15 comments. If you cant find it, Ill grab the link for you and post it as a comment in this entry.

How do you plan to do their bases by the way?

Too advanced My backside haha.. All you need to do is remember your password :P
As for the bases, Im going for a tiled approach, with bits of rubble here and there. Trying to keep my bases over all my armies varied so it isnt the same thing over and over again.
