May seems to be a Maintenance Month....

The good news is my chair is back to being that... a chair! Sorted out my boxes and everything so they are neatly shelved away after i made some space for them. However i wish i had a smaller box for the Rhino from the Space Wolves Battleforce, as that box takes up ALOT of space. None the less, the chair is back, my boxes are shelved away and in easy access when i need them, so all i need to do now is fix up the painting table again and ill be back in business. Ill try and finalise that tonight, that way i can paint and work on my thesis between stages, thus in theory it can keep my brain relatively active, yet at the same time give me something to do when i need a break that is still mentally stimulating.

Had a look through my Emperor's Children bits box and i think i still have enough bits of everything to do version 2 incarnations of my previous completed squads. Its a shame in some cases as some of the older models looked VERY nice. However, in light of my abilities to convert models, i will go back and do them the way they SHOULD have been done. Although the conversions wont be overly extensive, there wont be alot of this "i glued everything together" look about them. Do leg repositionings here and there, arms etc, however i will be using the exact same pieces as i used in the previous models, so here is hoping not only will they look better converted, the paintjob will look ALOT nicer as well.

Thats about this post done with, as i said, May has been more of a maintenance month more than anything else.

Wow! A new post in your "rant-column"! ;P

I say, leave the EC as is, do the unbuilt ones first and then (maybe) go back. That way you´ll get a playable force quicker and having some "history" in your models is nice. I mean, being able to see how much better you´ve become!

And the Rhino, cut it off from the sprue and throw the bitz in a bag, less space! :) (reminds me, I have a bag and half with Land raider parts needed to be glued together... :I ).

Now, get us some new pics!

Heh, least i remember the PW to my rant column ;) SO which girl was it Tobias? :P

Hrmm, i could leave them as is, but IM A PERFECTIONIST!!! Sure i know ill get some history and everything, but ive already seen paint/modelling skills progress in one army and yeah, it annoys me actually as it doesnt give the army a complete feel and ends up looking like a time line from when i started to when i finished.

Hrmmm, i could cut the sprue out, but im doing quite well for space now. I even started cleaning up my table a bit, so im feeling alot more relieved, although i still have a few things i need to move around *grumbles*. Plus since im not buying alot of boxes anymore, im not to worried about the space useage at this point in time. Although when i look at it... I have alot of tanks and dont realise it; averages 2 tanks per army. No Land Raiders though :P

Ill get pics.... Eventually :P

Hehe, don´t remember which one... *sigh* I don´t know what to do about that, friggin´ blog.... :P

I still think you should finish somw new Squads for the EC before going back, it´s "cute" having old and new stuff, if you know what I mean...

Now I know why you don´t want to post in the PC&A (apart from deeing great stuff like Bushido´s, and be compared to that!), 347 views and 4 comments, 1 by me and 2 by you... :(
Was it THAT bad..?!

Have you planned your first HQ for the SWs yet..? A Wolf Guard Battle Leader..? But what about the weaponry..?

Cheers!

Here is a hint, try every SINGLE girl you can possibly think of. In theory if the process of elimination is right, you'll get it eventually, unless you liked over 100+ girls, in which id call you a man whore :P

Yeah, i could finish some new squads, at least bring them up to par to things if they werent all over the place as it is. My desk is almost at an operational level, just need to clean it up a bit, as the amount of dust on it is unbelievable. Guess its been a long time since i last painted in my room.

Heh, yeah, thats WHY i dont post in PC&A :P Its not that it was "bad" (which it wasnt) its just they tend to be a bit snobby in there at times (IMHO). Plus, they pay more attention to painted works of high level quality. So at times, although its great to see the work from Bushido, Boltgun, Chap Des etc, it also IMHO sets a 'level' of quality for PC&A.

I have indeed planned my first SW HQ. Ill definitely be going for a Battle Leader and have proceeded to get the parts ready. In terms of armament, ill probably go the basic Bolt Pistol + Frost Blade. Basic, effective, and not a massive points sink. In larger games ill supply the standard wolf accessories: talisman, pelt and necklace. Of course ill model them on, but as a basic HQ it will be the standard battle leader with a BP and Frost weapon. Was considering lightning claws as well (with magnets :P) however im not fond of the new 'knuckle duster' look to them in their current incarnation.

Ah! It´s not that many!
On a side note, I tried Borys and it worked!

Just kidding! There are a lot of funny jokes about semi-male Russians here, at the moment, but you don´t have to worry... :D

Yeah, it seems like you shouldn´t worry about the PC&A section unless you´ve won a Golden Daemon statue, which is a shame... It seems like it´s no lonnger the place to ask for advice and ideas but rather a place to adore the GD stuff... (It´s a year and a half since I posted stuff there before this.) Really a shame...

Sounds like a good HQ, as for the lightning claws, rumour has it that the new Assault Terminators will get the older design of ´claws. Maybe you can get a few from there and make your 2nd HQ with ´claws..?

By the way, do you have that pic of all the boxes from ebay left..? ;)

Cheers!

Well i hope there arent that many :P I'd be worried if it was Borys though, however, did you try Ahoj?

Heh, the day i post in PC&A is when i have a complete painted squad, and even then that doesnt mean i will post in there. Critics in PC&A are a bit harsh for my blood! Thus, i only post general stuff here and there.

Hrmm, the old claws hey? This sounds promising.. And to think i was going to 1) hack up some metal claws *cringes* or 2) convert my own claws. See how things go, plus if i set him up as being magnetised now, i can easily make the claws at a later stage!

Indeed i do have all those pics. The pic of the two boxes and my horrible DA mini as a scale reference and then the pic of all of the contents OF the boxes. Ahh, that was a good day.

@ duregar

I've left a comment for you in the blog post below this one.

@ Chris
They aren't as harsh on Warpshadow..they even liked my Drazhar's gaunt. If I get around to it...I'll put some pic's on my blog. But it's been a very strange 2 weeks.

The Angelus Sanctus said...

Glad to hear Warpshadow isnt too harsh. I dont think the B&C tries to be "harsh" but now that some of the past winners of GDs etc are posting there, it raises the level of quality a bit. Plus, i guess it also depends on how well known you are and what abilities you have as well.
