For those who think that nothing is actually getting done on my desk, HA! It's time to prove ye wrong!! Well slightly wrong.
Anyway, i was taking pics for the Modular tank guide (which just needs to be written up now) and i took a few pics of the finished hormagaunt (modelling wise), who is actually not tilting now (thanks to some sinkers glued to the base). So here you go, the side profile of the hormagaunt, which i wish i didnt put fully together, as Ive unfortunately noticed, its arm is somewhat in the way of its mouth, which means picking out details will be a pain. On the upside, since the arm hides some of the detail, it means it wont be visible normally, so i can probably get away from picking out a few of the teeth.

LOL....remember..don't glue things together unless you're sure it doesn't block your way in painting.
I never glue the arms on gaunts untill everything behind it is painted..and most of the time even the arms themselves.
Looking good.
My first reaction was: TILT...but you already solved it. I needed to do it with some gaunts too...used some old lead (sp)...the metal thing.
Well usually I dont glue entire minis together (as you probably may have noticed) for the reason of, if you cant see it, cos its being blocked, dont glue it. Alas, perhaps ill learn for next time, we'll see. Although I am quite fortunate that given the 'Nid color scheme, its alot more forgivable.
Yeah.. The first pics of it had major tilt-age as the head was heavy. But as i said, I solved the issue by squeezing some fishing sinkers and gluing them to the underneath of the base (thanks to Tim Kline of Alienids fame for the advice there too). For $5 I got a back of 200 Size 00 sinkers and since they are hollow, squeezing them flat with pliers was not difficult at all, and i only ended up using two (may have been able to get away with one, but hey, I still have 198 sinkers left). Plus, buying them wasnt too expensive at all either. Ill make sure for future models ill keep the tilt idea in the back of mind, especially when it comes to designing the basing, so i can use the base itself to balance the mini rather than having to glue sinkers to it.
